[:en]This month’s Partner magazine features the Kyoto Pumpkin brella Parasol in it’s 2012 Parasol list! The Kyoto Pumpkin parasol is painstakingly made of hand-dyed linen using traditional dying techniques from the Kuriyama workshop in Kyoto. Each one is original and the fabric is absolutely gorgeous.

[:en]Recently photographer Minaco Syarima, and musician Yuqi Kokufuda stepped out in Ginza on a very rainy night to do an impromptu photo shoot with a selection of Pumpkin umbrellas. I’m so thrilled with the results. Thank you so much Minaco and Yuqi. That was such a good collaboration! In this wonderful recreation of an Bally poster from 1956, the model is shown holding a yellow DiCesare Designs Rhythm Ladies’ Pumpkin umbrella. Congratulations go to Bally for such a prestigious legacy!

[:en]I don’t write about them much but I’d like to thank them now. The craftsmen we work with in Kyoto have been making DiCesare Designs umbrellas and parasols for almost 8 years now. Their techniques have been crucial in developing new items and producing a limited edition series of high quality umbrellas and parasols. Without their combination of experience, pride and creativity, this series would not have been possible. Thank you! [:en]Once again I was able to visit my favorite city. Montréal. Every time I go, I find something new to love about this wonderful city. This time was no different. The food was wonderful and the people friendly. While there, Hurricane Irene rolled into town. It was quite the storm. Seeing this as an opportunity, we went out into the streets of old Montréal to do a photo shoot with the Rhythm Pumpkin Umbrellas! The weather conditions were extreme but we got some beautiful shots. The Rhythm Pumpkin Umbella withstood the Hurricane force winds beautifully as well. Elegance under pressure.[:ja]またしても大好きな街を訪れることができた。モントリオールだ。行くたびに、この素晴らしい街の新しい魅力を発見する。今回もそうだった。食べ物は素晴らしく、人々はフレンドリーだった。滞在中、ハリケーン「アイリーン」が街にやってきた。かなりの嵐だった。これを好機ととらえ、私たちはリズムカボチャの傘で写真撮影をするため、モントリオール旧市街に出かけた！極端な天候でしたが、美しい写真が撮れました。リズムパンプキン雨傘はハリケーン級の強風にも見事に耐えた。プレッシャーの中でのエレガンス。 [:]

Pumpkin Parasol at F1 Grand Prix in Valencia!
My good friend Monica from Spain sent me this shot of a Pumpkin Parasol at this year’s F1 Grand Prix in Valencia! I’m an F1 fan of sorts so I was really happy to see it. Mucho gracias Monica!
