Please follow the instructions below so that you can enjoy using your DiCesare Designs umbrella or parasol for a long time.
General Instructions
・ Umbrellas and parasols have sharp parts. So, please check the safety of the surrounding area before you open it.
・ If you suspect your umbrella or parasol has a damaged handle or ribs, please do not use it. Use of such a broken umbrella may lead to injuries or accidents.
・ Do not use it for anything other than the intended purpose of the product, such as using it as a walking stick.
・ Do not use the product in extreme weather as you may be injured or damage the product.
・ When closing the product, hand cream, sunscreen or makeup on your hands may stain or damage the canopy fabric.
・ Should your umbrella or parasol get wet from use in the rain, keep the umbrella open in a well-ventilated place until it is completely dry. Closing the item when it is wet may cause oxidization of the metal parts and also cause staining to the canopy fabric. Also, closing the item in a wet state may cause a buildup of bacteria which may produce an unpleasant odor.
・ Store your umbrella or parasol in a place where is it not exposed to sunlight, high temperature or humidity as this can cause the product to deteriorate prematurely.
・ Umbrella fabric fades due to prolonged ultraviolet exposure. The fabric may also discolor due to substances contained in the atmosphere and in rainwater.
・ If a section of the fabric is exposed to prolonged friction, the umbrella fabric may become wear and whiten in the affected area.
・ Synthetic leather handles and straps may deteriorate and the leather may crack over extended periods of time and use.
・ If you notice a decrease in water repellency of the umbrella fabric, we recommend spraying the product with a consumer grade water-repellent spray coating.

How to open and close a long umbrella or parasol
Opening
1: Release the snap button of the band and loosen the umbrella fabric and ribs.
2: Press the runner switch in the center of the black plastic part to unlock the item, then release your finger from the switch.
3: With your finger removed from the runner switch, slide the runner up until it clicks onto the top spring.
4: The umbrella or parasol is now opened and fixed in position.
Closing
1: Press the central switch of the black plastic part to release the umbrella from the top spring.
2: Slide the runner down until it clicks into the bottom spring.
3: Finally, fold the umbrella fabric and close the snap button on the bands to bind the ribs together in a closed formation.
How to open and close the folding umbrella
Opening
1: Release the snap button of the band and loosen the umbrella fabric and ribs.
2: Hold the handle with one hand and with the other hand place your fingers on both sides of the black plastic runner switch
(do not press the center button). Slide the runner up until it clicks onto the top spring.
3: The umbrella or parasol is now opened and fixed in position.
Closing
1: Hold the handle with one hand and with the other hand, press the switch in the center of the black plastic runner. This will release the umbrella from the open position.
2: Slide the runner down until the umbrella is in a closed position.
3: Finally, fold the canopy fabric and close the snap button on the band to bind the ribs together in a closed formation.
