My good friend Matias Lasarte recently took a series of my umbrellas and parasols out for a photo shoot in Uruguay. I can’t express how happy I am with the results. [:en]At this year’s Carnival in Venice, award-winning costume designer Tanja Shultz-Hess used the Parashell Frill as a headpiece for a jaw-dropping costume called “Umbrellina”. A Kabocha Parasol was also used in the costume. Being that most of my business is based in Japan, it’s exciting to be covered in another language besides Japanese once in a while. This month a series of Parashell parasols were covered in Repubblica Delle Donne’s D Casa magazine.

This is my favorite Parashell parasol. I didn’t like it much when it first came out, but I’ve grown to like it more and more. I thought it might be a bit too formal, but after taking pictures with Sandra, I realized it goes well with casual outfits too.
日本で傘や日傘をデザインするようになって数年以上になる。時々、なぜこうなったのか、どうしてこうなったのかわからなくなることもありますが、とても楽しい仕事だということは確かです。
