[:en]Recently photographer Minaco Syarima, and musician Yuqi Kokufuda stepped out in Ginza on a very rainy night to do an impromptu photo shoot with a selection of Pumpkin umbrellas. I’m so thrilled with the results. Thank you so much Minaco and Yuqi. That was such a good collaboration! [:en]I would like to thank all my customers for their patronage this year. It was a tough year in so many ways but I met so many nice people at all the events! I was lucky enough to see a customer of mine on the streets of Ginza this summer carrying the Rhythm 2 tone Pumpkin umbrella in Lavender and Dark Purple. Stylish and cute to say the least!

[:en]All this month, if you drop by Shiseido the Ginza, you can see a special installation using a series of Parasols and Umbrellas on the main floor of the building. I love it when umbrellas are installed somewhere in this way. I was really glad to see this one. Especially at such a special shop like Shiseido the Ginza![:ja]今月いっぱい、資生堂ザ・ギンザに立ち寄ると、メインフロアでパラソルとアンブレラを使った特別なインスタレーションを見ることができる。傘がこうしてどこかに設置されるのは大好きだ。これは本当に嬉しかった。特に資生堂ザ・ギンザのような特別なショップで！[:]

Pumpkin Umbrellas at Matsuya Ginza 2011

Today was the first day of the the Matsuya 100 Umbrella Exhibition show. The weather was not so nice making it a good day to pick up a nice umbrella! Like the Kabocha Marina Parasol (Navy Dots & Stripes) or a Rhythm Palette Umbrella. They both have UV and Waterproof coating making them great for a Rainy or Sunny day. Heck, these handmade Pumpkin Umbrellas are good ANY day!

On May 14th Shiseido opened their new flagship Ginza store, SHISEIDO THE GINZA. To honour the grand opening of this incredible store, we produced a collaboration series of umbrellas and parasols which are available in the Beauty Marche on the 1st floor. Taking the concept of beauty to a new level in Ginza!

[:en]Matsuya Ginza, Kyoto Style with DiCesare Designs[:ja]松屋銀座　京の傘 日傘スタイル[:]

DiCesare Designs Ginza Show

[:en]The Kyoto Sakura parasol and The Kyoto Kabocha parasol are a special collaboration with Kuriyama Kobo. A traditional Kyoto fabric studio that created a special pattern for both the Sakura Parasol and the Kabocha Pumpkin Parasol. The fabric is a delicate linen dyed in a style combining “Bingata” and “Kyo Yūzen” techniques.

You just have to see them to understand how well this fabric compliments the Sakura Parasol and the Kabocha Pumpkin Parasol shapes. A jaw-dropping limited edition series that reminds me why I started designing umbrellas and parasols in the first place. Available till the end of this month at Matsuya Ginza.

この生地が「桜日傘」と「かぼちゃ日傘」のフォルムをいかに引き立たせているかは、実際に見ていただくしかない。そもそもなぜ私が傘や日傘のデザインを始めたのかを思い出させてくれる、衝撃的な限定シリーズだ。松屋銀座にて今月末まで販売。

[:en]Once again DiCesare Designs items were on display at Matsuya Ginza Department Store the biggest umbrella show in Japan! This year we displayed our latest collection at our booth beneath a great display of several hundred hanging umbrellas in Matsuya’s main hall. I got a chance to meet a lot of interesting people and see their reaction to the designs. It was also interesting to see their reaction to my at times incomprehensible Japanese language skills. An annual event not to be missed by any umbrella connaisseur.[:ja]今年もディチェザレデザインのアイテムが、日本最大の傘の展示会である松屋百貨店に展示されました！今年は、松屋銀座のメインホールにある数百本の吊り下げ傘の素晴らしいディスプレイの下に、私たちのブースで最新コレクションを展示しました。たくさんの面白い人たちと出会い、彼らのデザインに対する反応を見ることができた。また、私の時折理解できない日本語に対する彼らの反応も興味深かった。傘愛好家なら見逃せない年に一度のイベントだ。[:]
